Bethany Nungester, the daughter of Joe and Shawn Sullivan of Terre Haute, Ind., attended Terre Haute North Vigo High School where she played softball, was a member of the National Honor Society, and helped to plan freshman orientation as a participant in the school’s Link Crew.
Bethany has been a member of the University’s softball team for three years, where she pitches and plays first base. During this time she has successfully managed many responsibilities; being a student athlete, excelling academically, and working a full-time job at a local restaurant. Joseph Witten, IU Southeast softball coach, says “Bethany shows tremendous drive and determination both on and off the field. She is very mature for her age and understands that her work will pay off for her in the future.”;
Bethany is earning her degree in biochemistry. She hopes her studies will provide the foundation for a master’s degree in physical therapy, which is influenced by her love of sports. A leader inside the classroom, she has been a supplemental instructor in her chemistry and math courses. She is also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Bethany relies on her ability to communicate effectively and her organizational skills to succeed. She is thankful for the strong relationships that she has formed while attending IU Southeast.
