Each year, the choirs collaborate with the IUS Orchestra for a performance of major works that focuses primarily on the masterpieces of the choral/orchestral repertoire. In addition, the ensembles also explore some of the more traditional choral pieces from various time periods and parts of the world.
Whether you are a graduate student or freshman, experienced or novice, the Indiana University Southeast’s choral program has an ensemble for you!

SOUTHERN INDIANA WOMEN'S CHORAL FESTIVAL
![]() |
The idea of creating the Southern Indiana Women’s Choral Festival began twelve years ago, when a group of motivated local high school choral directors joined forces to offer talented students from the area the opportunity to celebrate the beauty of the female voice. Linda DeRungs, Angela Hampton, and Leslie Rajchel created this festival involving dedicated students, from freshmen to seniors, who learn varied literature for treble voices for a day of choral singing. For years, the various participating schools took their students to different venues to work under different directors. In 2010, IUS was invited to host the festival and over two hundred students came to our campus to work on challenging literature. The festival was a success and our campus was chosen to serve as the home for this wonderful event. IUS is proud to inherit such a great tradition and looks forward to making the Southern Indiana Women’s Choral Festival a part of our own choral tradition. Next Performance: Monday, April 20, 2012, 7:30 p.m. in Stem Hall Director: Dr. Mariana Farah To inquire about participating in the Southern Indiana Women’s Choral Festival, contact the director at 812-941-2025 or e-mail mafarah@ius.edu. |
