KENNETH ALBRECHT

HORN

Adjunct Lecturer

Office: OG 079

Kenneth Albrecht (horn) has been the Principal Horn of the Louisville Orchestra since 1966, when he was a student at the University of Louisville. He has played under all of the Orchestra's Music Directors, starting with the Orchestra's founding conductor, Robert Whitney. In addition to the orchestra, he has played with other Louisville institutions, including the Louisville Bach Society, the Louisville Ballet, the Kentucky Opera, and the Kentucky Chamber Orchestra. He has also played frequently with local chamber music ensembles, such as the Ceruti Chamber Players, the Kentucky Center Chamber players, the Louisville Brass Quintet, and others. Summers might find Kenneth playing with various music festivals around the country, including the Santa Fe Opera, Peninsula Music Festival in Wisconsin, and others. Kenneth has soloed with the Louisville Orchestra on several occasions, including one that was certainly the most unusual, Peter Schickele's Pentangle for Horn and Orchestra, which included one movement of magic tricks, and singing! Kenneth has recorded this piece on the Orchestra's First Edition label.
