Music Audition Application

In addition to completing an application for admission to Indiana University Southeast, students wishing to be admitted to the Music Department as a music major must submit the audition application below. After submitting this application you may schedule your audition.

AN AUDITION IS REQUIRED OF ALL STUDENTS WISHING TO BE ADMITTED TO THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT.
Students cannot earn a music degree without performing an audition.

and mail to the Music Department.

If you are auditioning for scholarship consideration only – and not for admission as a music major – do not complete this application.
Instead, complete the Scholarship Application.

AUDITION INFORMATION
All students wishing to earn a music degree MUST audition for admission to the program

Audition Repertoire List the pieces, etudes, scales, etc., you plan to perform for your audition (a minimum of two selections). If you are undecided about the repertoire you will perform, enter 'TBA.' 
No rock or rap selections are allowed. View a list of acceptable repertoire suggestions

You must provide your own accompanist if one is needed for your audition. If you need assistance in securing an accompanist, you can view our list of recommended accompanists and contact them directly. Be advised that you will need to contact an accompanist as far in advance of your audition date as possible. Also, please be aware that you will need to negotiate accompanist fees with the accompanist.

                   
CREDENTIALS

In addition to this application, students should provide a copy of their most recent transcript and at least one letter of recommendation from a current or former music teacher. Students who have already submitted a transcript to the IU Southeast Admissions Office can request a copy of that transcript be sent to the Music Department (contact the Admissions Office to do this). Current IU Southeast students my submit a copy of their transcript printed from OneStart.
