IU Southeast Music Department announces audition
|

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEW ALBANY, Ind. — The Music Department at Indiana University Southeast will hold auditions on Saturday, February 2 and Saturday, March 2 for students interested in receiving a music scholarship and/or admission to the IU Southeast Music Department's music degree program. Auditions are held in the Recital Hall of the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center on the IU Southeast campus, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany. Students wishing to audition must complete an application and schedule an audition time on the Music Department's web site at www.ius.edu/music. All IU Southeast students are eligible to receive a music scholarship, regardless of the student's major. Several scholarships are available, including the Rasmussen Scholarship Awards in Music, The Martha Stem Music Scholarship, the James Poteet Scholarship for Performance on a Band Instrument, the Eric Schansberg String Scholarship, the Wil Greckel Music Scholarhip, and the IU Southeast Music Composition Scholarship. Students wishing to be admitted to the Music Department's music degree program must audition on February 2, March 2, or May 11, 2013 (those wishing to be considered for a scholarship must audition by the March 2 date as the May 11 date is for admission only). The IU Southeast Music Department offers the Bachelor of Arts in Music degree with concentrations in Music Industry (Sound Engineering or Music Business), Music Composition (Composition for Film & Media or Composition for the Concert Stage), and Music Performance (Instrumental Performance or Vocal Performance).
