FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEW ALBANY, Ind. — The Music Department at Indiana University Southeast will present the IU SOUTHEAST CONCERT BAND on Sunday, February 12 at 3 p.m. in the Richard K. Stem Concert Hall of the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center on the IU Southeast campus, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students, seniors, IU Southeast faculty & staff, and are available at the Ogle Center ticket office or by calling (812) 941-2525.
Under the baton of Donald McMahel, music director, and Phil Thomas, conductor, the band will perform a variety of popular and light classical selections, including Galop by Dmitri Shostakovich (arranged by Donald Hunsberger), the Overture to Crazy For You by George Gershwin (arranged by Jerry Brubaker), Selections from Into The Woods, arranged by Stephen Bulla from the Stephen Sondheim musical, Crooner's Serenade arranged by Justin Williams, the Grand Serenade for an Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion by "P.D.Q. Bach," laboriously edited, adapted, and arranged by Prof. Peter Schickele, a medley of songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, appropriately titled, Sinatra!, arranged by Stephen Bulla, and will close with a new take on some classics by film composer, John Williams with John Williams Swings!, arranged by Jay Bocook. Parking: Free parking is available only in the Dogwood Lot directly in front of the Ogle Center from one hour before the performance until one hour after the conclusion of the performance. Vehicles parked in lots other than the Dogwood Lot without a permit will be ticketed.
