Biography

Overall Research Goal

To advance informatics research and involve undergraduate students in active research projects.

Active research projects:

Project 1: Bioinformatics: Characterization of the Human Genome

Students have actively participated in the research from design implementation to result gathering.

Accomplishments:

1 peer reviewed paper, 7 conference presentations and 1 Undergraduate Research Journal Paper

Project 2: Medical Informatics: Automated Iridology: An Interdisciplinary Research Project to Improve the Future of Medical Diagnosis

One student is actively involved in the design and implementation of the project.

Accomplishments:

1 conference presentation and 1 Undergraduate Research Journal Paper

Project 3: Social Informatics: Social Networks, Synthetic worlds and Popular Culture

All the students have actively participated in the research from design implementation to result gathering.

Accomplishments:

1 peer reviewed paper and 6 conference presentations

Project 4: Astro Informatics: The SkyNet Project: Cluster Computing

Students have actively participated in the research from design implementation to result gathering.
