Requirements for Associate of Arts in Geosciences

In addition to the General Requirements for Undergraduate Degrees at IU Southeast and the Associate of Arts Degree Requirements, the candidate for the AA in Geosciences must complete the following courses with a grade of C or higher in each course: 

  • Math-M 118 or above
  • Introductory Geoscience (select one):
    • GEOG-G 107 Physical Systems of the Environment (3 cr.)
    • GEOL-G 100 Earth Science: Geologic Aspects (5 cr.)
  • Required Geoscience (select one):
    • AST-A 100 The Solar System (3 cr.)
    • AST-A 105 Stellar Astronomy (3 cr.)
    • GEOG-G 201 World Regional Geography (3 cr.)
    • GEOL-G 221 Introductory Mineralogy (4 cr.)
  • 12 credit hours in geoscience with at least 9 credit hours in lecture-based geography, geology, or astronomy courses, with at least 6 credit hours at the 300 - 400 level. Approval of program by geoscience advisor required.
  • Electives bring total to 60 credit hours
