If you are not sure if you are a First Year Student, check your Letter of Admission for confirmation.
Before you start your next steps as a First-Year Student, be sure to become familiar with the information in the Steps for All Students section.
You need to create your network identification user name and password to access computing services at IU Southeast. To set up your account, please go to the Account Management System. You will need your University Identification Number listed on your Letter of Admission. Your network identification will enable you to access information from One.IU, which will help you manage your academic life including personal information, academic services, registration and financial aid. If you need help setting up your network identification user name, please call (812) 941-2447. PLEASE NOTE: If you set up an IU guest account to check your admission status, you must set up a new IU computer account in order to register for classes and manage your student record.
If you took dual credit courses in high school, be sure to get the credit you deserve by submitting official college transcripts to the IU Southeast Office of Admissions. Credits will not be added to your official IU Southeast record until official college transcripts are received from the credit-awarding institution (not your high school). If you are unable to submit your college (not high school) transcripts before registering at IU Southeast, please help us advise you by completing this chart and bringing the completed form to your advising appointment. Please note that these credits will not be added to your official IU Southeast record until we receive official transcripts from the credit-awarding institution
View and print a copy of your Transfer Credit Report (TCR) and Academic Advisement Report (AAR). These reports show how your previous coursework has transferred to IU Southeast and how those credits apply to your degree program.
Please note that you will need to log in using your username and passphrase to view these details. Please print the TCR and AAR and bring them to your advising session.
In addition, you can view a four year Degree Map that outlines all course requirements by major. In One.IU, search for degree maps and click the link at the top of the list. Choose the Southeast campus and then search for your major(s) of choice.
Students who have not completed a college-level English or mathematics class are required to complete campus placement testing.
Option 1: You must test prior to your orientation date. To view the placement test schedule and get information about the placement tests, go to the Student Development Center webpage or call (812) 941-2312.
Option 2: Special placement test appointments can be made closer to orientation dates and outside of normal testing hours. Please call the Student Development Center at (812) 941-2312, or send an e-mail with your request to firstname.lastname@example.org. This option is provided for students with restrictive work schedules and for those who live a great distance from campus.
Note: For your convenience, you may take your writing (college-level English) placement test online at: http://gus.ius.edu/wsp.
You will be invited to a mandatory orientation session where you will learn about academic programs, student services, and out-of-classroom involvement opportunities. You will also register for classes during your orientation session. Invitations will begin going out in March, and sessions will be offered throughout the spring and summer. The earlier you attend, the sooner you can secure your schedule at IU Southeast!
You will be officially welcomed to IU Southeast on Induction Day. Mark your calendar to attend on Friday, August 21, 2014. During Induction Day, you will have opportunities to meet faculty, staff and other new students; learn about academic expectations; locate your classrooms; purchase books; and take a campus tour. You will receive more information about Induction Day during your orientation session.
