What Is Counseling Like?
Red Heading Underline

Counseling experiences vary with the nature of the problem. Usually the counseling procedure involves one or more interviews or discussions. Vital to the functioning of the counseling service is the confidential nature of the counseling experience; counseling records and information are not released to others except upon written request by the student. Counseling records and information do not become a part of the student's academic file.

The primary objective of counseling is to assist students in reaching greater self-understanding so that they will be able to cope more successfully with their future as well as their immediate problems.
