Sandra R. Patterson-Randles, Chancellor, Indiana University SoutheastFranklin D. Roosevelt once observed, “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” Over the 70-year history of IU Southeast, this institution has kept its sights set on that very goal: providing a quality education that “transforms good students into great leaders, one graduate at a time.”

Our commitment to this singular purpose has taken us to new heights. IU Southeast is now recognized both regionally and nationally as a campus dedicated to student success. The Princeton Review has ranked our School of Business fifth in the nation for “best classroom experience.” We now offer more than 100 student organizations that enrich and enhance classroom learning. Our 8-to-1 student-to-computer ratio is one of the best in the nation.

Achievements like these have enlivened our campus and community. They have also given us a renewed sense of obligation to continue on a path of progress. Nearly 90 percent of IU Southeast alumni stay in Indiana or the Greater Louisville Metropolitan Region after graduation. Through their professional, personal, and civic contributions, they powerfully shape the future of this region. It is incumbent upon all of us to ensure that they are supurbly prepared to do so.

At no time in our history has there been such extraordinary opportunity for advancement. Through support for learning, dynamic campus environment, legacy and tradition, and educational excellence, we will continue to raise the bar on the quality of education we deliver and the quality of graduate we produce.

On behalf of our students, our region, and this great University of which we are all so proud, I invite you to take part in this historic moment by lending your support to Shaping Powerful Futures: The Campaign for IU Southeast.

With deep gratitude,
