IUS TimesBoard of Advisors FocusIntroducing the Board In 1972, the Board of Trustees authorized the establishment of Boards of Advisors at the Indiana University Regional Campuses because it believed that the economic and political institutions of the region shared by each campus should be considered in the policy decisions affecting that campus. The general purpose of each Board of Advisors is to assist the President and the Board of Trustees of Indiana University in responding to the educational needs of the various regions of the State. The boards provide insights, information, and advice which enable the University to become more sensitive to the changing needs of the community. A minimum of three meetings are held each year, although additional meetings may be called by the chancellor. The IU Southeast Board of Advisors for the 2005-2006 academic year are:
