Guidelines

1. All sections within a course will have same waitlist criteria.

2. Courses which will NOT be waitlisted.

• Any system-wide course (program, such as Labor Studies).
• Block Enrollment Courses (example: First Year Seminars)
• Purdue State-wide course offerings.
• Nursing courses

3. Decisions for Schools

• Courses to be excluded from the waitlist
• Maximum number of students on a waitlist.

4. Waitlist will open for designated courses as soon as the course has reached maximum capacity.

5.  Waitlist process will run as follows:

Fall semester registration period:

• Run weekly every Monday after Early Registration begins, except for these periods:
  • Any scheduled Holiday for Staff
  • Commencement Day
  • Run daily (M-F) beginning the first working day of August
  • Last day to add to waitlist will be end of business on Tuesday during the 1st week of classes.  [Final waitlist process runs early Wednesday morning.]

Spring semester registration period:

• Run weekly every Monday after Early Registration begins, except for:
  • Any scheduled Holiday for staff
  • Run daily (M-F) beginning the first working day of December, except for:
    • December 23 through 1st full working day after Christmas
    • Last day to add to the waitlist will be end of business day on Tuesday during the 1st week of classes. [Final waitlist process runs early Wednesday morning.]

Summer I registration period: – [Note: Classes start day after commencement]

• Run weekly every Monday after Early Registration begins, except for:
  • Any scheduled Holiday for staff
  • Run daily (M-F) beginning the first working day of April
  • Last day to add to the waitlist will be end of business on Thursday before classes begin. [Final waitlist process runs early Friday before classes begin. Note: Commencement is Monday before Summer I starts.]

Summer II registration period:

• Run weekly every Monday after Early Registration begins, except for:
  • Any scheduled Holiday for staff
  • Commencement Day
  • Run daily, beginning the 1st working day of June
  • Last day to add to waitlist will be end of business on Thursday before classes begin. [Final waitlist process runs early Friday before classes begin.]
