Do I have to take all of the tests if I'm a transfer student. Probably not. Your Transfer Credit Report will tell you how the courses you transferred match up with courses at IU Southeast. An admission counselor, an academic advisor, or one of the Student Development Center staff can tell you which tests you need. You can meet with an academic advisor before you take the placement tests.
Why do I have to take placement tests if I have good SAT or ACT scores? SAT/ACT scores are used to determine your admission to the University. Placement test scores determine your first course in writing, math, and French, German, Japanese, or Spanish.
When will I receive my placement test scores? You will receive your placement test scores when you meet with your Academic Advisor.
Can I register for a class before I receive my placement test scores? Placement tests must be completed prior to registration for classes. Talk to an admission counselor or an academic advisor in the Academic Success Center if you want to register for a course before you receive your placement test scores.
How much time should I plan to spend taking the placement tests? The average amount of time spent testing is between 1 and 1.5 hours. |
