Student Development Courses

Several courses are offered to strengthen students' skills in reading and learning techniques, writing, and foundational mathematics.

EDUC-X 150, Reading and Learning Techniques 1, prepares students for rigorous academic study.  Emphasis is placed upon effective college-level reading techniques, memory and concentration skills, note-taking, time management, and test-taking skills.

ENG-W 100, Developmental Composition and MATH-M 007, Elementary Algebra are courses designed to give students practical experience in systematically improving skills in writing and math.

Each of these 3 credit hour courses can count in determining financial aid eligibility, but the courses do not count in the total credit hours required for graduation.
