AdmissionsBeginning in the Fall of 2012, any student expressing a desire to major in one of the programs in Social Sciences will be housed in Social Sciences as a “pre” major. They will be advised by one of the professional advisers in Crestview Hall. Once that student meets the requirements, the “pre” designation will be dropped, and the student will become a full-fledged major. To declare a major in one of the programs in Social Sciences, a student needs to have completed 12 hours, passed a First Year Seminar (FYS) class, completed English Composition W131 with a C or better, and completed an introductory course in the intended major with a C- or better. Students transferring from another school at IU Southeast must make an appointment with one of the professional advisers.
