Career Opportunities
Spanish Majors and Minors can apply their linguistic and cultural skills in many different fields and professions: business, communication, education, law enforcement, medical professions, etc. All students seeking a Bachelor of Arts degree are required to take four semesters of a single language. Beyond these 4 semesters, IU Southeast offers a Minor, a Teaching Minor, and a Major in Spanish.
Students are strongly encouraged to complete a portion of their studies in Spanish in one of Indiana University's excellent Overseas Study Programs. We invite all IU Southeast students to study the languages we offer for both practical benefit and for pleasure.
Many law, medical schools, and MBA programs prefer a BA degree. For this reason, a BA in Spanish is of practical value if a student wishes to continue their studies.
