Mary Ann Wild provided the Treasurer’s Report.  See detail above. 

Staff Council elections are ongoing.  The process will close on Friday.  Steven Clark encouraged folks to vote.  Trudy Walter, Steven Clark and Lisa Ruddell will not be serving on next year’s Staff Council. 

A special “thank you” to Steven Clark for serving as President of Staff Council.  We appreciated all of his efforts and dedication in his role as President. 

The Chancellor’s Picnic is scheduled for Friday, August 24, 2007.  Steven Clark reported that he has been asked to award the Staff Council Scholarships and Honorarium at this event.  Three folks have applied.  Steven volunteered to send out a memo announcing the recipients for Fall 2007.

Steven Clark suggested an agenda item for the next Staff Council meeting – Staff Council Spring Fundraiser.

Discussed the upcoming Ice Cream Social scheduled for Wednesday, August 22, 2007.  The event will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the breezeway area outside of the Administrative Offices.  Catering and Conferencing will be providing 6 gallons of vanilla ice cream, 3 gallons of chocolate ice cream, crushed Oreo cookies, sprinkles, crushed Heath Bars, chocolate syrup, strawberry topping, butterscotch syrup, whipped cream, cherries, crushed nuts, napkins, spoons, bowls and ice water.  Projected cost is $125.00.  Volunteers are needed to work the event.  Steven Clark volunteered to send out a reminder notice.  See you there!

We have distributed several sunshine baskets to staff.  Thank you notes have been received and were available for members to view.  Thank you to folks who contributed items for the baskets.  Also, thank you to Trudy Walter for managing this process.

Steven Clark volunteered to check on the status of the birthday bags.

Kathleen Norvell volunteered to continue her role as staff representation in Faculty Senate.  Thank you!

At the next Staff Council Meeting, we will be welcoming new members to Staff Council as well as election of officers.

Kathleen Norvell will be representing staff at the inaugural ceremony for IU’s new president, Michael McRobbie.  Thank you!
