STAFF COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
May 19, 2010 – Library Conference Room 230
Attending: Steven Clark, Lesley Deal, Donna Harvey, Carol Kennedy, Connie Schnieders, Loretta Seals, Charla Stonecipher, Alice Watson, Kim Wells, and Mary Ann Wild.
Excused Absences: Kelly Bowling, Regina Mc Carty, Angie Self and Basil Mumaw

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
Election Committee-Steven Clark
The nomination elections have been completed. Persons receiving the most votes in each category will be contacted regarding accepting the nomination. The election ballot will be conducted by Survey Monkey and should be completed before the June Staff Council meeting. Lesley Deal noted that Steven had done a great job setting up the nomination ballot and the voting went smoothly.
CORRESPONDENCE
A thank you note from Sandy Sweeney for her honorarium was received earlier this year and omitted from being mentioned in the correspondence section of the minutes.
An email was received from a company wishing to offer a discount to staff and students and was sent to Melissa Hill for consideration.
OLD BUSINESS
Ice Cream Social – Alice Watson
A committee was appointed to organize the Ice Cream Social. Alice Watson, Charla Stonecipher and Lesley Deal volunteered for the committee. A Wednesday or Thursday afternoon between 1st and 2nd summer sessions will be selected. Alice will call to reserve the Breezeway in UC. More details will be announced at the next meeting.
Fall Festival-Alice Watson
After discussion, a committee was appointed to investigate our options. Donna Harvey, Charla Stonecipher and Lesley Deal volunteered for the committee. Alice will investigate soft serve ice cream from Zesto and Lesley will check with Vickie for suggestions and clarification on rules.
NEW BUSINESS
None
Announcements:
- The winner for reading the minutes and registering during the month of April is Becky Litterst.
- Jay Whitman, who delivers files for admissions as a work study, will be having a ceramics sale in the Admissions Office from June 21st -23rd beginning at noon. Jay is a talented art student who will use the proceeds for supplies to create pottery for courses at IU Southeast. Jay was kind enough to donate a piece for the last silent auction.
With no further business or announcements, the meeting was adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
