STAFF COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
August 11, 2010 – UC 121
Attending: Kelly Bowling, Lesley Deal, Cari Edwards, Regina Mc Carty, Loretta Seals, Lisa Stark, Alice Watson and Mary Ann Wild
Excused Absences: Steven Clark, Donna Harvey, Carol Kennedy, Charla Stonecipher and Annette Wernert

President Watson welcomed everyone attending. She also welcomed new member Lisa Stark. Kelly Bowling presented the Treasurer’s report (see detail below):

Alice Watson welcomed new member Lisa Stark.
CORRESPONDENCE
A note was received from Lisa Ruddell thanking the staff council for winning the $5 on her u-card for reading the staff council minutes.
OLD BUSINESS
Fall Festival-Alice Watson
Charla reported that the bake sale may not work as a fundraiser for the Fall Festival. We need to have pre-packaged items and the cost of the items would give a tiny profit. Mary Ann priced many of the candy items and reported various prices. Alice suggested that anyone who was available could volunteer at the event and we wouldn’t use this as a fundraiser.
NEW BUSINESS
Regina McCarty reported that 4 applications have come in for the Fall Honorariums. There is one that is a repeat. This doesn’t close to Monday so she will keep us posted.
Cari passed out a list of meeting dates for 2010-11. We changed the December date to December 8 in LB230 because the following week is the Chancellor’s Holiday party and many people may be on vacation. Also, we changed the October date to October 13 so we would have another meeting to work on the silent auction before the event.
Silent Auction – Alice Watson
Mary Ann Wild and Kelly Bowling volunteered to be co-chairs for the Silent Auction. The date is set for Wed, Oct. 20 in UC127. We need to start working on donations and figure out a theme. If you have any suggestions, email Mary Ann or Kelly. If you need a letter for solicitation, contact Cari and she can send to you.
Credit Union Account – Kelly Bowling
The names on the IU Credit Union account need to change. Cari will send Kelly the minutes stating the change in officers and she will take care of this with the Credit Union.
Announcements – The winner from reading the minutes is Michael McNeal.
With no further business or announcements, the meeting was adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
