Discussed the next steps in the Staff Election process.  The next process is to send an e-mail to candidates asking them if they would like to serve.  Once the candidates have been identified, the election process will begin and run for a time period of two weeks.  Thanks to the Election Committee consisting of Steven Clark, Donna Harvey and Roger Morris for their ongoing contributions!

 

Steven Clark, chair of the Staff Scholarship Committee, reported that the committee has approved the selection of Alicia Stanley to receive the Staff Council Honorarium of $150.00 for the fall semester and Denise Townsend to receive the Book Honorarium of $50.00 for the fall semester.  Thanks to the Staff Scholarship Committee consisting of Steven Clark, Lesley Deal and Diane Fuchs for their efforts!

 

Discussed the Staff Assistance Guideline proposal.  Suggestions/revisions were recommended.  This proposal will be reviewed at the next Staff Council Meeting.

 

We have been contacted regarding volunteers to serve as Affirmative Action Monitors.  Thank you to Rebecca Beardsley, Donna Harvey and Steven Clark for volunteering.

 

Discussed volunteers to serve on a committee chaired by Mary Ann Baker addressing an upcoming Staff Survey.

Suggestion for an agenda item for the next Staff Council Meeting was recognizing staff at the holiday season.

 

As part of the Staff Council election process, the departing members along with the newly elected members of Staff Council are encouraged to attend the next Staff Council Meeting.  The President will thank all of the departing members for their participation and efforts during their term and then the departing members will leave the meeting and the newly elected members will conduct Staff Council business and elect their officers.
