The Treasurer's Report was approved.

 

Minutes from the Staff Council meeting on 8/16/05 were approved.

 

Steven Clark, Chair of the Staff Scholarship Committee, reported that there was a change to the selection of the recipient of the Staff Council Honorarium.  For the record, the Staff Council Honorarium of $150.00 for the Fall semester was awarded to Tom Harris.  The Book Honorarium of $50.00 for the Fall semester was awarded to Denise Townsend.  Congratulations to both recipients!

 

Discussed the Staff Assistance Guideline policy.  Staff Council members voted and the policy was approved as stated.  The policy along with applicable form will be placed on the Staff Council Website.

 

Janie Loney, departing Staff Council President, thanked the Staff Council members for their assistance and efforts during the last year.

 

The following Staff Council members have completed their term and are retiring from the Council:  Rebecca Beardsley, Janie Loney, Cari Jackson and Diana Holman.  Thank you for your continued support and service!

 

Welcome to our new Staff Council members!  We are all looking forward to working with each other to make a successful Staff Council year.

 

Staff Council elections for the 2005-2006 academic year were held.  Congratulations to our officers:

 

President:                     Steven Clark

Vice President: Donna Harvey

Secretary:                     Diane Fuchs – (Elected for a Second Term)

Treasurer:                     Mary Ann Wild – (Elected for a Second Term)

 

Via an e-mail vote, Staff Council members voted to donate $100.00 to the Salvation Army for personal items (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, comb, diapers, etc.) to be purchased and donated to the Salvation Army for Hurricane Katrina victims.  Thanks to Trudy Walter and Diana Holman for coordinating and purchasing the items.  In addition, Trudy Walter has volunteered to serve as a collection point for anyone who would like to donate personal items (as listed above) for this worthy cause.  Please pass the word on this donation opportunity!  We will try to get the word out via Campus Connection and e-mail.  Thank you!

 

Discussed staff recognition during December.  Last year, holiday bags were distributed to all staff on campus.  The Staff Council members voted to continue this process again this year.  The assembly of holiday bags will commence at the Staff Council Meeting on 11/15/05.  Diane Fuchs volunteered to chair this process.
