3/15/05 – 10:00 A.M – SCRIBNER/CLARK

The Treasurer's Report was approved.  Mary Ann Wild reported that she will not be on campus and in her absence, Janie Loney is an authorized signer on the Staff Council checkbook.

 

The minutes from the Staff Council meeting on 2/15/05 were approved.

 

Discussed the updating of the Staff Council Website.  Janie Loney reported that a version of Front Page/Dreamweaver is needed to update the current site.  Cost for this program is $100.00 and can be obtained from the Bookstore.  Diane Fuchs reported that new technology is available for a newsletter format/link utilizing Empower.  Steven Clark volunteered to update the current Staff Council website.  Please e-mail him with any changes/additions/deletions to the site.  Rebecca Beardsley made a motion to maintain our current website and pursue the development of a Staff Council Newsletter.  Motion was unanimously approved.

 

Discussed the upcoming Staff Council Style Show on April 15, 2005.  The theme is Southwest Fashion Fiesta.  Tickets for the Style Show have been distributed.  A reminder that Lisa Ruddell is in charge of ticket sales and all non-sold tickets and ticket sale monies should be turned into her.  Discussed a clarification on the meal for this event.  The meal will be preset on the tables and will include chicken salad on a bed of lettuce/greens, croissant, drink and assorted cakes.  If you desire a vegetarian meal, please mention your menu selection to a staff council member upon entering the Style Show Luncheon.  They will be happy to change out the food selection.  Rebecca Beardsley volunteered to make a sign for the registration table indicating the procedure for a vegetarian meal. 

 

Kathleen Norvell has volunteered to arrange models for the Staff Council Style Show.  Attached is a listing of models by areas.  Please note that models are still needed for this event.  Contact Kathleen Norvell if interested.

 

Janie Loney has compiled a listing of proposed door prizes for the Staff Council Style Show.  A copy is attached.

 

The Bookstore has offered their window as advertisement for the Staff Council Style Show.  Volunteers and decorations are needed on April 4, 2005 at 8:00 a.m. to help decorate the window.  Please e-mail Janie Loney with your decoration ideas.

 

The Fred Astaire Dance Studio will be opening the Staff Council Style Show event this year.  Thank you to Janie Loney for securing their services.

 

Janie Loney reported that the press release on the Staff Council Style Show is ready for distribution.  Flyers on this event for distribution in public places on campus will be available soon.

 

Since we do not meet again until after the Staff Council Style Show, Janie Loney will be sending out e-mails to update all Staff Council members on the progress of the Staff Council Style Show.

 

Volunteers are needed to work the day of the Staff Council Style Show.  We need folks to work the door, help with the door prize drawings, work the door prize tables, help folks find their tables and switch meals if necessary.  Please contact Janie Loney to discuss volunteer opportunities.  Thank you!!

 

The Book Honorarium Award has been re-awarded to Ashley Troncin.  Beth Roberts has returned the funds for the Book Honorarium.

 

Received a "thank you" from Hospice of Southern Indiana for the Staff Council's donation of a gift basket for their recent fundraising event.

 

Discussed the "open" technical staff representation on Staff Council.  Janie Loney asked that this item be tabled until the next Staff Council meeting for further discussions and considerations.
