Discussed dissolving the Rainy Day account. Kim Wells made
a motion to move the Rainy Day monies into the savings account. Seconded by Regina McCarty. Motion passed.
The Staff Council Spring 2006 scholarship awards are as
follows: John Jarboe - $150.00 Academic and Leslie Yeager - $50.00 – Book.
Congratulations!
Discussed the scheduling of a Staff Council Ice Cream
Social. The event will be held on June 21, 2006 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. in the
Commons Area located outside of Subway. The Multi-Purpose Room was suggested;
however, it was not available.
Please mark your calendars - Staff Retreat – October 27,
2006. Details will be forthcoming.
The Staff Council Style Show has been cancelled for this
year. Difficulties were encountered in lining up sponsoring stores. Our
appreciation to Regina McCarty who contacted numerous stores for this event.
Discussed options for a fundraising event Staff Council.
Options included:
- Raffle
- Silent Auction – November
- Dance
- Chili Cook-Off
- Sell Entertainment Books
- Card Party
- Sell $1.00 Candy Bars
After lengthy discussions, Regina McCarty made a motion for
Staff Council to hold a silent auction in November to raise scholarship and
operating monies. Seconded by Lisa Ruddell. Co-Chairs for this event will be
Lisa Ruddell and Mary Ann Wild. Steven Clark volunteered to serve on the
committee. Diane Fuchs volunteered to check on the availability of the
Multi-Purpose Room – (all day).
Steven Clark volunteered to check out locations for the
Staff Council to sponsor a card party. He will contact various churches to
check on availability and associated costs.
Trudy Walter reported that the Relay for Life will be held
this year on May 12 & 13, 2006 at Floyd Central. Staff Council voted to
donate a $100.00 for this event.
Discussions on web site enhancements were tabled until the
next Staff Council Meeting.
Rebecca Beardsley was serving as the H.R. Liaison for Staff
Council. Since her retirement, this position has been vacant. Steven Clark
volunteered to discuss the filling of this vacancy with Human Resources.
Steven Clark discussed items resulting from serving on the
Campus Executive Council and CBAG – (Campus Budget Advisory Group).
