STAFF COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

5/16/06 – 10:00 A.M – INDIANA ROOM

Treasurer's Report is listed above.  Due to the balance in some of the accounts, Mary Ann Wild volunteered to closely monitor and transfer funds if appropriate.

 

Reminder - The Staff Council Ice Cream Social is scheduled for June 21, 2006 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.  It will be held in the Commons Area outside of Subway.  We need individuals to help out at the event.  A suggested time slot of half an hour was discussed.  A signup sheet will be available at the next Staff Council Meeting – June 20, 2006.  Steven Clark volunteered to send out an e-mail reminder on June 19, 2006 to all Staff personnel. 

 

Silent Auction update.  Event is scheduled for November 14, 2006 in the Multi-Purpose Room.  Please consider donating to the event any handmade Arts & Crafts projects that showcase your artistic talents.  The theme for this event is "holiday".  If you personally know of a person or company who would be interested in donating an item for this event, please contact Steve Clark for inclusion on the master contact list.  Steven Clark also suggested that we add all the donors from last year's event to the list.

 

Discussed the new performance review process.  Due to time constraints, discussions will be continued at the next Staff Council Meeting.

 

Discussed adding a link to the Staff Council Website which lists companies in the area which offer a discount on their projects/services to staff members.  It was agreed that a disclaimer notice will be added to the page.  It was also suggested that the page be updated on a yearly basis.  The site will be reviewed with Jenna Copple for IU policy compliance.

 

Campus Executive Meeting updates:  upcoming campus marketing; enrollment status – Summer I and II; upgrades in parking lot lighting; new state law regarding harboring of social security information – (suggest IT send out an e-mail regarding this new state law).

 

An Election Committee was formed to facilitate upcoming Staff Council elections in August.  The Committee members are:  Steven Clark, Donna Harvey and Lesley Deal.  Thanks to all for volunteering to serve on this important committee.
