Mary Ann Wild provided the Treasurer’s Report. See detail
above.
Regina McCarty had a sample of the bags that will be
utilized for the upcoming Spring/Summer treat to all Clerical, Service
Maintenance and Technical Staff. Discussed items to be included in the treat
bags. Staff Council members volunteered to help stuff bags. Thank you to
Charlotte Dubois and Regina McCarty for leading this effort.
Steven Clark brought up for discussion the give-away related
to reading of the Staff Council minutes. In the past, we have been awarding a
$5.00 gift certificate to Buffalo Madison Coffee Shop. We are out of gift
certificates and the question for discussion was to whether or not we wanted to
continued this program. Staff Council members suggested that we continue with
the give-away of a $5.00 gift certificate to Buffalo Madison Coffee Shop until
August, 2007. At which time, it was suggested that we revisit this procedure.
Discussed the status/process for distribution of birthday
bags to Clerical, Service Maintenance and Technical Staff. Regina McCarty
volunteered to check out the status and report at the next Staff Council
meeting.
Heather Hampton, Equity and Diversity, was the guest speaker
at this meeting. Sexual harassment/sensitivity training will be conducted
during the summer. There will be three tiers of training – first tier for
supervisors, second tier for faculty/staff and third tier for students. Heather
was soliciting ideas on presentation ideas for this training. Heather would
also welcome topic suggestions.
Steven Clark reported that he has had discussions with Ann
Lee regarding job classification / reclassification process. Ann stated that in
order to be considered for reclassification, you must have job duties which
require tasks to be completed at a higher level. The procedure requires
completing the 14 page job questionnaire. You can request a job audit to be
completed on your current job. You have the right to appeal the decision. If
you appeal, the paperwork is forwarded to IUB HR for a final decision.
The discussion of increased costs – (gas prices) – was
tabled until the next Staff Council meeting.
Discussed scheduling an Ice Cream Social in July or August.
Further discussions were tabled until the appropriate Staff Council meeting.
Discussed Staff Council meeting attendance. Please remember
to notify Diane Fuchs if you are unable to attend. It will count as an excused
absence versus unexcused absence.
Reminder – Campus Beautification Day has been changed to
