Joanna Durham-Barnes is an Assistant Professor of Elementary Education at Indiana University Southeast. She spent several years as an elementary school teacher in Louisville, Kentucky before pursuing her doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus on diversity and international education. She continues to focus her research and teaching on preparing teachers to work in diverse, urban environments.
