Parking on Campus

IU Southeast has more than 2,000 on-campus parking spaces. Permits are required for all on-campus parking.

Student Parking (Red Permit)

All IU Southeast students are eligible to purchase a Red parking permit. These permits give students access to all parking areas marked with red "Student Parking Permits" signs. Students must display a valid "Student" permit in their vehicle.

Student Semester Permit - $29.00

Faculty/Staff Parking (Blue Permit)

Faculty/Staff parking areas are marked with blue signs and are restricted to those vehicles displaying a valid "Faculty/Staff" permit. All full and part-time staff and faculty are eligible to purchase Blue parking permits.

Faculty/Staff Annual Permit - $80.00
Adjunct Faculty/Part Time Staff Semester Permit - $26.00
Full Time Faculty/Staff Semester Permit - $29.00

Handicapped Parking (Green Permit)

Handicapped parking spaces are clearly designated. Vehicles parking in these areas must display a valid IU Southeast "Handicapped" endorsement. In the event all Handicapped parking spaces are occupied, this permit also allows parking in either the "Faculty/Staff" or "Student" parking areas.

Motorcycle Parking

Motorcycle parking permits are available at the University Police Office.

Temporary/Visitor Parking

Temporary permits are available by the day or week. The permit dispensers in the parking lots offer daily permits. Daily and weekly permits may also be purchased at the University Police Office.

Visitor parking areas (meters) are located in the Evergreen East and West, and Dogwood parking lots. These spaces are not to be utilized by faculty, staff, or students who have a semester or annual permit displayed.

Purchase Your Permit

You can purchase your parking permit when you register for classes, or from the University Police.

Appeal Form for Parking Violations

Parking appeals must be completed using the Adobe Acrobat form below. Handwritten submissions should be avoided. The appeal must be received by the University Police on, or before, the seventh day after the issue date. The form must also be stamped in the date stamping device upon receipt. Incomplete and/or late appeals cannot be accepted.

After the appeal form has been submitted, it will be read before the Student Traffic Appeals Board. The board usually meets once a month through the Fall and Spring semesters. If you choose to, you may attend the meeting and voice your own appeal.

Once a decision has been made you will receive a letter from the University Police to inform you of the board's decision.

Where do IU Police Officers have jurisdiction to make arrests?

IU Police Officers have jurisdiction on any real property owned or occupied by the University or on any streets through or adjacent thereto. The IU Southeast Police department also shares concurrent jurisdiction anywhere in Floyd and Clark Counties through mutual aid agreements.
