First Aid

A first aid room is maintained by the University Police department, and all officers are certified in first aid and CPR. If an ambulance is required, the responsibility for payment of the ambulance costs belongs to the party requiring treatment.

Delivery of Messages

The campus police will deliver messages in emergency situations only, to students and employees who are on campus and cannot otherwise be notified.

Car Services

The police do provide the service of battery jumps for vehicles that are stalled on campus for a five dollar fee. They will unlock vehicles on campus for IU Southeast student, staff, and faculty for a ten dollar fee.  Both services require the signature of a liability waiver by the driver. The Police also have a portable air tank and can assist with a minor flat tire.

Where do IU Police Officers have jurisdiction to make arrests?

IU Police Officers have jurisdiction on any real property owned or occupied by the University or on any streets through or adjacent thereto. The IU Southeast Police department also shares concurrent jurisdiction anywhere in Floyd and Clark Counties through mutual aid agreements.
