Accreditation
Indiana University Southeast is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), one of six regional bodies legally qualified to grant accreditation to colleges and universities.
In order to earn accreditation, the university must meet a set of criteria relating to academic offerings, governance and administration, mission, finances, and resources. HLC’s institutional accreditation includes all degree levels as well as onsite and online offerings.
Re-Accreditation
IU Southeast was first accredited by the HLC on July 25, 1969, and its most recent reaffirmation of accreditation was in 2009 - 2010.
We are up for re-accreditation in 2020, and the process includes both self-study report and a campus visit by an HLC evaluation team on September 9 and 10, 2019.
This website provides access to the final self-study report—known as the Accreditation Assurance Argument—along with references to supporting evidence, as a pdf.

Everyone's Voice Matters
The Accreditation Assurance Argument is the work of the entire campus, while public input has also been an essential and required part of the accreditation process. Everyone’s voice matters.
