Biography

Dr. Gloria J. Murray is Professor and former Dean of the School of Education at Indiana University Southeast (IUS).  She is currently also serving as the interim Director for the Office of Service Learning and Community Engagement at IUS. Dr. Murray served as dean for fourteen years leading her school through two accreditation cycles and several programmatic improvements. She was instrumental in bringing in $1.5 million dollars to the New Albany Floyd County School District to address local literacy issues.  She served on several local boards including an Education Foundation board for a local school district, as well as professional, state and community boards.  Dr. Murray was the invited speaker for over 20 organizations and school districts and also cited in the Louisville Courier Journal several times regarding education issues.  She has delivered over 50 presentations at the state, national and international levels and published over 20 reports and articles. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate degree from Indiana University.
