Biography
Ana Sarbu (violin, music appreciation) received her Master of Music degree in violin performance in 2009 from the University of Louisville where she was a student of J. Patrick Rafferty and her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She was a violin performance major at the National Music University in Bucharest, and received a Baccalaureate and Professional Certificate in Violin Performance and Teaching from the George Enescu Music High-School in Bucharest where she was a student of Mihaela Tomescu. in 2001 she received a scholarship to the Akademie der Alte Musik Karlsruhe (Academy of Early Music in Karlsruhe) where she studied Baroque violin and orchestra with Anton Steck. Also that year she received a scholarship to attend the Festival Junger Kunstler Bayreuth (Young Artists' Festival). Her orchestral experience includes the George Enescu Philharmonic, the Louisville Orchestra, Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of West Virginia, Roanake Symphony, and the National Romanian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
