Biography

Mario DaSilva (guitar) holds a MCM from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary School of Music in Louisville, Kentucky, and a BA from Belmont University, in Nashville, Tennessee. A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Mr. DaSilva has established himself in the United States as a teacher and a performer. As a teacher, he has been instructor of guitar at Indiana University Southeast since 1989, and at Belmont University in Nashville, since 1995. As a performer he maintains a busy playing schedule both in the Louisville and Nashville areas. He is heard nightly on the nationally syndicated FM radio “Delilah After Dark” talk show, out of Seattle, Washington, and “The Joe Arnold Show,” WHAS 84 AM. Mario has been seen and heard on ESPN and Shop at Home television networks, and has made many appearances on local TV. He has worked closely with the likes of guitarists Muriel Anderson, Pedro Cortes, singer-songwriters Lari White, Billy Dean and songwriter Chuck Cannon. His debut release “Meet Mario” by Rainbow at Midnight Records is available in music stores in the Louisville and Nashville areas. Mr. DaSilva plays a Japanese made Asturias 60, built in 1989. He continues to reside and work in Nashville, Tennessee.
