Biography
At the start of my professional journey, I used my bachelor’s in biology to pursue an exciting, travel-full career as an educator for the National Park Service. After getting married and moving to Louisville, I completed the library science master’s program at UK to “urbanize” my skill set as an information professional. While in grad school, I worked part-time as an Instructional Library Specialist for Jefferson Community and Technical College, developing learning guides, leading information literacy instruction, and providing research assistance. I am especially interested in accessibility, Universal Design for Learning, and online learning, and in my job at the ILTE, I am grateful for the opportunity put these skills to work supporting our instructional designers and assisting faculty in making their course materials accessible. In my free time, I enjoy reading, gardening, hiking, and hanging out with my husband, stepdaughter, and fur-kids (one dog and two cats).
