Description

Childplace, Inc. has immediate openings for second and third-shift staff in the agency's residential treatment facility serving at-risk children and adolescents. This position is for the Main Campus in Jeffersonville. We offer a great opportunity for students with our flexible scheduling and the ability to gain experience.  We also offer a great opportunity for persons looking to get into the field of social services, education, or health care to work with children facing emotional, behavioral, and development challenges.


Role : A Residential Youth Worker (RYW) is responsible for the social, emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of residents who are enrolled in on-campus treatment programs. RYWs provide active supervision and intervention as needed as they model positive relationship skills by joining clients in the completion of daily living tasks as well as other recreational and therapeutic activities. Once residents are in bed, 3rd shift RYWs complete regular bed-checks and resident monitoring, perform basic cottage cleaning, prep for the morning shift, and assist 1st shift with the morning routine.


Weekly Schedule : typically, RYWs work 8 hour shifts and can work as many as 40+ hours a week (if desired); full-time opportunities are available following a 90-day evaluation. Both second and third shift positions available with some weekends required. Flexible scheduling to accommodate school pursuits or other family and life commitments is offered.


Benefits and Compensation : starting rate of $11/hour—additional benefits include: flexible scheduling and a supportive work environment. Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 21, certifiable in CPR and First Aid, and possess the following: good communication skills, an aptitude for leadership and teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Applicants are required to submit to multiple background checks.
