CNC operators work with Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) heavy machinery from setup to operation to produce parts from wood, plastic or other materials. Personnel at Diamond will be working with wood materials. CNC equipment is precision machinery that cuts and drills into the material. CNC operators may need to make adjustments to the machine; whether that is controlling speed, controlling the material and feed of the cut. Personnel also make sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality products. CNC operators make sure their machines are working at full capacity, are stocked with needed materials, well-maintained and perform periodic checks on output. They look at the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production.

Essential Responsibilities:

Entry-level operators
- Load materials, such as plywood sheets, solid wood boards, into CNC machines to be shaped.
- Calculate the amount of material to be used at the machine.
- Make may adjustments to the operating speed based on vibrations and sounds that may indicate a malfunction.
- Upon completion, an operator inspects the fabricated part to make sure that it matches specifications.
- Operators are responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment
- Often operators are responsible to operate multiple machines simultaneously

Experienced CNC set-up operators
- Download control programs into individual machines and perform test operations to guarantee the machine properly creates the precise part.
- Set-up operators may work with a CNC programmer
- Modifying the program directly before an entry-level operator takes over production.

- Constant housekeeping to maintain neat and organized work spaces
- Following safety procedures DIAMOND has in place.
- Immediately report all operational concerns and potential safety hazards to management.
- Immediately report all injuries to operations management.

- Currently DIAMOND works 1st shift. This is 6am-4:30pm and Monday-Thursday.

Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand and walk.
- Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. alone. Loading and unloading carts and dollies.
- The noise level in the work area is usually loud.

Preferred Experience/Education:
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- While we can provide on-the-job training, Diamond Billiards prefers candidates who have gone through apprentice programs (up to 4 years) in association with a community college or vocational school.

- English is the primary language used in our facility.
- Knowing Spanish is beneficial.
