Doug resides in New Albany, IN. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from IU Southeast in 1977. Doug has been active in many aspects of business throughout his career, not the least of which was serving as Mayor of New Albany for three terms. He also served as Director of Development and Public Relations for two large local corporations: Hughes Group and Koetter Construction.
Some of Doug’s extensive involvement in his community includes:
- Chair of Southern Indiana Arts Council
- Indiana University Alumni of Southern Indiana
- Board President of Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County
- Southern Indiana Tourism Board - 2004-07
- Serving on the Board of LifeSpring
- Develop New Albany - establishment core and current member
- Volunteer in community action organizations such as LifeSpan Resources, Blessings in a Backpack, Knights of Columbus programs, the Redman Club, and the Elks Club
- 1991 graduate of Leadership Southern Indiana
