Highest Distinction (red and white cords): 3.95 GPA or higher
High Distinction (white cord): 3.80–3.94 GPA
Distinction (red cord): 3.6–3.79 GPA
If you feel that you earned an honors cord but haven’t received an invitation to the event by April 15, please contact your school or division.
6 p.m.–6:45 p.m.—Students and participating faculty check in and assemble near Stem Concert Hall. Family members and friends can take a seat in the audience.
6:45 p.m.–7 p.m.—Procession begins and students will be seated on stage. Faculty will take seats reserved in the audience.
7 p.m.–8 p.m.—Ceremony, speeches, recognition of honorees, distribution of cords and certificates.
8 p.m.–8:30 p.m.—Reception in the Ogle Center lobby, where light refreshments and photo opportunities will be available.
The wearing of an honor cord during Commencement does not automatically guarantee the awarding of degree honors. Degree honors are calculated once all the degrees for a graduating class are posted and are determined by other factors.
