Where Am I Wearing? cover The common reading for 2018-19 is Where Am I Wearing? by Kelsey Timmerman. After college, Timmerman traveled the world to find out from where his clothes came. He visited garment workers in factories or “sweatshops” from Latin America to Asia. In this book, he shares the stories of the people who make the clothes we wear from T shirts, to jeans, to underwear, to flip-flops. He is able to humanize the issue of globalization and provokes readers to check their tags and think about where their clothes come from and who made them. The theme of the text is “we should try to be engaged consumers, not mindless pocketbooks.”
