The Office for Service Learning will refer individuals to places where funding may be available. A starting place is with Indiana University Southeast. Opportunities to support service-learning course development, implementation, assessment, presentations and scholarly activity are available for faculty to pursue. Academic Affairs funding supports faculty with an interest in service-learning. The listing of funding criteria can be found on the Internal Grant Information webpage. IU Southeast Institute for Learning and Teaching Excellence (ILTE) is another place to support faculty in this area. See funding resources at ILTE Supported Awards/Funding. ILTE funding include the Strategic Excellence Grant, Innovation Teaching Awards, Mack Fellows, Improvement of Teaching Grant, and Summer Faculty Fellowship for Teachers The Academic Affairs office and ILTE are great starting places to submit ideas and proposals for service-learning course development or other community engagement projects related to teaching and scholarly research on service learning. IU Southeast is fortunate to have an office to help with external grants that might have a service-learning and community engagement focus. Contact the Academic Affairs Grants Coordinator, Jean Borger at jmborger@ius.edu or visit the External Grant Information webpage to learn more about this resource.

Additionally, one can seek funding for service-learning and community engagement projects on the Indiana Campus Compact Grants webpage. Indiana Campus Compact (ICC) also has a Social Innovation Micro-lending program to support projects that provide an opportunity for college student and alum social entrepreneurs to obtain a loan to start a social venture.

The state of Indiana also has funds to support community engagement in many ways. See the following links as resource.
