Welcome to our campus community!

The office of the Dean of Student Life supports the educational mission of IU Southeast to maintain a caring community that is educationally supportive and honors diversity, innovation, loyalty, teamwork, mutual respect, and fair play. It does so by helping students to strive for academic excellence, providing support for students in times of challenge, crisis, and emergencies, as well as opportunities for students to engage in good decision making. I encourage you to fully utilize the campus resources available to you such as Campus Life, Student Development Center, Career Development Center, Center for Mentoring, Disability Services, and Personal Counseling Services. Please seek assistance before you find yourself in crisis. Together, we can help you navigate through the administrative processes and be an advocate for your success.

The Dean of Student Life serves a number of functional areas, including Greek Life, New Student Programs, Leadership Programs, the Student Involvement Center, the Adult Student Center, Volunteer Center, and Children's Center. The Office of the Dean of Student Life is also responsible for upholding the IU Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct. When there is an academic or behavioral violation of this code, students are given opportunities to discuss their involvement. This process will be educational and is designed to help students learn and develop better decision making skills. The Dean of Student Life also supports and advises the Student Government Association (SGA).

My office is located on the first floor of the University Center South, room 010. Let us work together to provide you with the most positive and meaningful experience as you pursue your personal and educational goals. As a member of the campus Student Behavioral Consultation Team (SBCT), the Dean of Student Life also works closely with student support departments to identify students in distress or of concern. All members of our campus community is expected to report disruptive or concerning behavior to support the overall health, safety, and success of IU Southeast.

Best regards,

Seuth Chaleunphonh
