What is "Development?"
"Fundraising is the gentle art of teaching people the joy of giving."
-- Henry A. “Hank” Rosso, founder of The Fund Raising School at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy
The purpose of the Office of Development is to plan, coordinate and implement fundraising strategies to build support for Indiana University Southeast among individuals, corporations, foundations, and the community. Simply put, the Development team helps identify the interests of those who want to make a difference, and matches those interests to the various funding needs of the campus, such as scholarships, research, buildings, special programs and more.
The Office of Development strives to create and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with friends and donors by discovering and facilitating their philanthropic desires, engaging them in the work of the University in a meaningful way, and recognizing them for their contributions.
