Tax Benefits of Charitable Giving

Your gift to Indiana University Southeast through the Indiana University Foundation may entitle you to certain income tax benefits. As always, please consult your tax professional for information specific to your gift.

Federal Tax Deduction

For those who itemize deductions, you may generally deduct 100% of a charitable contribution made to a qualifying organization, up to 50% of your adjusted gross income. Learn more at www.irs.gov.

Indiana State Tax Credit

Gifts to an Indiana college or university may provide you with a tax credit. For individuals filing a single return, you may be entitled to take as a credit one-half of your gift, up to $100. For individuals filing jointly, you may be entitled to a tax credit equal to one-half of your gift, up to $200. Please note, tuition paid to a college or university does NOT qualify for this credit.
