Kevin Boehnlein, B.A. ’97
was named Vice Chair of the
Board of Directors at One Southern Indiana (Chamber of
Commerce). Boehnlein is a Financial Advisor for Edward
Crystal Gunther, B.A. ’01
joined the IU Southeast Alumni
Association Board of Directors.
Andrew Takami, B.A. ’03
was named Director of Purdue’s
College of Technology in New Albany.
Melissa Weissinger, B.A. ’05
her husband, Sam, celebrated the
arrival of their first daughter, Claire
Avalene Weissinger.
Aaron McKinney, B.S. ’06
joined Your Community Bank
as Vice President. McKinney also is a member of the IU
Southeast Chancellor’s Medallion Committee.

Alumna starts local Montessori School
Jana Morgan Herman, B.A. ’09, recently founded The Montessori
School of New Albany (MSNA), a local group that focuses on early
childhood education for children, including those with learning
Morgan Herman received her B.A. in English Literature from IU
Southeast in 2009. Her husband, Kyle Herman, B.A. ’05, also
graduated from IU Southeast and both of her children are current
IU Southeast students. Morgan Herman also holds a Master’s
degree in Education from St. Catherine University in Minnesota
and a K-3 teaching license.
Morgan Herman has been involved in Montessori Education since
first as a parent substitute, then as a classroom guide at the
Montessori School of Pensacola, Fla. She held the same position at
Community Montessori in New Albany before opening MSNA.
