branch manager of the bank’s Court Avenue branch

Christopher Gentry, B.A. ’99
, was promoted to Associate
Professor of Geography and has accepted the position
of Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research at
Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn.

, was named the new Southport
High School boys’ basketball coach.
Wanda (Gregory) Borrego,
M.S. ’04
, coordinator of the IU
Southeast Children’s Center,

Audrey Steier, B.S. ’04
, is a Realty Specialist with the
Army Corps of Engineers. She and her husband, Brian,
welcomed their daughter, Amelia Grace, on Feb. 7, 2012.
Cheryl Cotner, B.A. ’06
, was named administrative
assistant for New Albany Mayor Jeff Gahan.
Ian Hunt, B.S. ’06
, is a Product Application Specialist
for Mississippi Valley ST ILH, a branch of ST IHL Inc., and
has received the designation of Certified Arborist by the
International Society of Arboriculture.
Laura Bruns, B.S. ’10
, joined Tandem Solution as a sales
and operations assistant.
Christopher Gardner, B.S. ’10
, was named flood control
supervisor for New Albany, Ind.
Distinguished Alumni Award
winner announced 
The 2012 IU Southeast
Distinguished Alumni Award
recipient is Jerry K. Finn. The
Distinguished Alumni Award
is given in recognition of
alumni whose achievements
have significantly benefited
their community, state, or
nation, and reflect honor on
IU Southeast.
Finn (A.S. ’77, B.G.S. ‘78) is
the executive director of the
Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County and a national
trainer, author, and consultant. He received two
undergraduate degrees from Indiana University and
a Master’s in Theological Studies from St. Meinrad
School of Theology.
Finn is President of the New Albany-Floyd County
Education Foundation and serves on several local
boards and committees including the Board of
Directors of the Indiana Youth Institute, Indiana
Dollars for Scholars, and Rotary Club of New Albany.
He also serves on the Governor’s Bi-State Bridge
Authority for Louisville and Indiana, the Governance
Council of Youth Count, and the steering committee
for the Youth Philanthropy Initiative of Indiana. He is
vice-president of Keep New Albany Clean and Green
and a committee member with Develop New Albany.
He is involved with the Regional Economic Coalition of
Southern Indiana, the Grantmakers of Southeastern
Indiana, and the 21st Century Scholars collaboration.
A father of four, he and his wife, Jill, live in Starlight,
Ind.
Finn was honored in April at IU Southeast’s annual
Distinguished Alumni Luncheon. Also in attendance
were the recipients of the Alumni Award of
Excellence, which recognizes outstanding alumni
from individual schools. Those winners include:
