By Dick Kaukas
While a soft spring rain misted down, Ray Wallace, the
new Chancellor of IU Southeast, ambled across campus
from the Library toward the Life Sciences Building.
He was touring the campus he was slated to take over
on the first of July, introducing himself, shaking hands
with students and staff members, stopping to banter in
a couple of offices, laughing as he grabbed jelly beans
from a bowl on a countertop and holding doors open for
people behind him.
It was a gray April afternoon, Southern Indiana’s
approximation of a damp spring day in Northern
Ireland, where Wallace was born in Antrim, not far
from Belfast.
Chancellor Wallace meets with IU Southeast staff and students.
