the IU Southeast family as the university’s seventh
And what a year it has been! Over the past 12

who give so generously of their time, ideas and effort
to expand the visibility and renown of our college.
But also people beyond the beautiful confines of our
campus: the community members and leaders whose affection for and pride in IU Southeast is so
evident in their ongoing support.
To all of you, a hearty thanks for helping to make my first year an informative, productive and
We have added programs and personnel, upgraded our technological infrastructure and
educational facilities, and strengthened our leadership boards. Commencement attendance
shattered school records, as did our fundraising effort at the Chancellor’s Medallion Dinner.

from Holocaust survivor Eva Kor to a new Pops Festival, and through active participation in
regional organizations such as Leadership Southern Indiana, Greater Louisville Inc. and 55K

opportunities for alumni to join in, be it by cheering for the Grenadiers at the Homecoming
basketball game, attending a concert at the Ogle Center or getting involved in the Alumni
Association. As this issue of the IU Southeast Magazine aptly demonstrates, there is plenty going
on, and plenty to look forward to.
Thank you again for the warm welcome and ongoing support.
