Approximately 450 people attended the 2016 IU Southeast Chancellor’s Medallion Dinner, which resulted in more than
$100,000 to support student scholarships from donations, ticket sales, sponsorships, a silent auction and a live auction.
Enthusiastic bidders gave $39,868 to the silent and live auctions, which featured items like a week-long trip to Hawaii, a
behind the scenes tour of the Louisville Zoo and an in-home bourbon tasting with an executive bourbon steward.
In total, the auctions raised enough to fully fund six $6,000 Chancellor’s Medallion scholarships for future IU Southeast
Chancellor RayWallace delivered the keynote address at the event on April 9 at Horseshoe Southern Indiana. He reflected
on the school’s 75th anniversary and highlighted achievements of IU Southeast students and faculty over the past academic
year, as well as the new programs and partnerships that lie ahead as the university continues to expand its reach.
This year’s Chancellor’s Medallion community award winners, Patrick Shoulders, IU Trustee and partner at Ziemer,
Stayman, Weitzel & Shoulders, and State Rep. Ed Clere, B.A. ‘99, were honored for their distinguished service to the
campus and community.
In addition to the community award winners, seven outstanding IU Southeast students – four juniors and three seniors –
were recognized for their academic achievement and leadership potential.
