RN to B.S.N. Degree Completion Options
The RN to B.S.N. Degree Completion program addresses the specific needs of
working registered nurses who return to the university to earn the Bachelor
of Science in Nursing degree. It is designed for RNs whose highest academic
credential in nursing is a diploma or associate degree in nursing.The newly
redesigned program, updated courses, and contemporary electives are meaningful
to today’s RN. IU Southeast offers two alternatives for completing the Bachelor of
Science in Nursing degree: Classroom or online options.
Classroom RN to B.S.N. Program:
•
Courses are offered using a variety of instructional methods to facilitate
student learning.
•
Finish the program in 12 months after completing the general education
coursework.
•
Attend nursing classes only one day a week.
•
Credit is awarded for relevant courses taken at other accredited institutions
of higher learning.
•
The student has the opportunity to network with other nurses from Southern
Indiana and Louisville who bring a wide range of knowledge and experiences.
•
Registered nurses receive credit for valid specialty certification from a
professional nursing organization in an appropriate area of nursing.
A maximum of two credit hours may be awarded.
•
Experienced nurses can receive credit for prior knowledge and skills consistent
with specific required course objectives/outcomes through the portfolio option.
Online RN to B.S.N. Program:
•
Distance accessible classes allow you to complete coursework via online courses
andWeb-based conferencing technology.There is no need to come to campus.
•
Finish the nursing courses in 12 months, 18 months, or 24 months of study,
after completing general education coursework.
