Search Process for Professional Staff Positions

(Professional and Bi-weekly)

Contact IU Southeast Human Resources at (812) 941-2356 for assistance.

STEP ONE:

Request for a New Position

Academic Unit/Department

sends Human Resources a Job

Description, Justification Form

and Organization Chart.

Human Resources then fills out

the Authorization to Fill a New

or Vacant Position Form.

STEP TWO:

Human Resources assigns a

number and submits the

request to Accounting

Services for Fiscal Officer’s

signature. It is then

submitted to Administrative

Affairs for Budget

Committee approval.

STEP THREE:

Budget Committee

approves and returns

request to appropriate

Vice Chancellor.

STEP FOUR:

Authorization to Recruit

Vice Chancellor approves Authorization to Recruit and

Search Committee is notified.

STEP FIVE:

PeopleAdmin

(Approval to Advertise)

HR notifies Office of Equity &

Diversity to begin the

PeopleAdmin review process

for

approval to advertise

.

Office of Equity & Diversity

approves request to advertise

and an e-mail to proceed is sent

to the hiring manager, search

committee members, HR and

the appropriate Vice

Chancellor.

STEP SIX:

PeopleAdmin

(Approval to Interview)

The hiring manager reviews

all applications and enters

appropriate rejection reasons

for those not selected for

interviews. An email is sent

to the Office of Equity &

Diversity to review the

request for

approval to

interview

. HR will send a

link to the Office of Equity

and Diversity to begin the

PeopleAdmin review process.

Office of Equity & Diversity

approves request to interview

and an e-mail to proceed with

interview scheduling is sent

to the hiring manager, search

committee members, HR and

the appropriate

Vice Chancellor.

STEP SEVEN:

PeopleAdmin

(Approval to Extend Offer)

The hiring manager sends an

e-mail to HR and Office of

Equity & Diversity to review

the request for

approval to

offer

. HR will send a link to

Office of Equity & Diversity

to begin the PeopleAdmin

review process.

Office of Equity & Diversity

approves request to offer and

an e-mail to proceed is sent to

the hiring manager, search

committee members, HR and

the appropriate Vice

Chancellor.
